ESPN has been sorting the list of the Top 100 professional athletes of the 21st century and it recently released half of it on Monday. However, it appears not everyone seems to view the list as fair including the network’s own analyst, Pat McAfee.
Regardless of having his show air on ESPN, McAfee didn’t hold back from expressing his unfiltered opinion on the top 100 athletes list using harsh words. The No. 51 to 100 has been released by The Worldwide Leader, revealing the extensive list comprises contributions of ESPN’s editions from all across the world.
On Tuesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, host McAfee passionately criticized ESPN’s list by calling it a “s**t show” before playfully hinting about the upcoming appearance of fellow ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky.
There is a top 100 list that is coming out from ESPN people and I'll tell you what. It is the epitome of everything that everybody hates about ESPN, what they chose to do in ranking the top 100 athletes of like the 21st century. They only gave us like 50 to 100 yesterday. What a s**t show. What an absolutely terrible list. And we'll blame Dan Orlovsky for that.Pat McAfee said

Although Orlovsky had a ballot, he wasn’t the only person responsible for creating the Top 100 Athletes list, whose merits and credibility have become a topic of discussion lately.
TV host Pat McAfee criticizes ESPN network’s decisions
The TV Show host has never let his professional relations with the ESPN network come in the way of speaking out against something he didn’t seem right. Prior to this list of criticisms, McAfee also criticized the network’s decision to award Prince Harry with the Pat Tillman Award for Service at 2024’s ESPY Awards.
It’s going to Prince Harry. Who I don’t even think is a Prince anymore, right? He said don’t call me that? See, why does the ESPYs do this s**t?Pat McAfee remarked
The reason why McAfee didn’t like the recipient of the award is because it is dedicated to someone who walked away from his NFL career to serve in the United States Army in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. Prince Harry was chosen for the award due to his work with the Invictus Games.
