Pat McAfee has been the time of his life hosting College Game Day on Saturdays. The ESPN analyst is passionate about the game and his energy levels resonate with that of the college crowd. He knows how to get the crowd going and is a natural entertainer.

College football fanbases are brutal and Pat McAfee got a taste of that on Saturday before the matchup between No.11 Alabama and No.15 LSU at Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In an attempt to test the energy levels and anticipation of the crowd, McAfee began to sing a well-known slogan of the team starting with the sound “Heyyy yooo,” but the words that followed from the mouths of the crowd were not TV-friendly.

The crowd yelled “Suck that Tiger d***, b****” in perfect unison. It was as if they had all rehearsed that on previous occasions but that caught the former NFL punter off-guard.

It’s 8 AM, I think they’re ready to go…Didn’t know that was coming, I thought they were going to say sick like the humidity but I didn’t know it was actually (an offensive slur).

Pat McAfee expressed his surprise at the response from the Tigers’ crowd

The LSU Tigers lost the game to Alabama in spectacular fashion

Unfortunately for the home crowd of Louisiana, that was the only moment of the day where they got to rejoice. Later during the day, Jalen Milroe and the Crimson Tide went on to annihilate them 42-13 in a game where the quarterback had 4 rushing touchdowns and 0 passing touchdowns. It was Milroe-time throughout and LSU failed to get their offense going.

It was truly a disheartening ending to a day that started off with great energy and when it is game day in Louisiana, the energy levels are through the roof. It is one of the best places to be in to catch the game. This year has been a rocky one for the Tigers who are 6-3 and have lost their last two outings.

For Pat McAfee and ESPN, college game days are all about having fun and wilding out. The network’s decision to bring Nick Saban aboard is a pure genius move. The dynamic shared between the two has resulted in a surge in viewership and is one of the best shows on ESPN at present.
