There is no stopping Patricio “Pitbull” Freire, the number 3 ranked featherweight in the ‘world’ has an impressive resume. More recently, he took on Pedro Carvalho in the main event of Bellator 252 and finished him off with a devastating KO, thus reasserting his claim as the best featherweight the organization has produced. The win also saw Patricio Freire advance to the semi finals of Bellator grand prix where he will meet Emmanuel Sanchez.

The younger Freire brother still has a long way to go in his career, and is definitely expected to shatter a plethora of records in the coming years.

Speaking at the post-fight conference, the Brazilian made a big claim saying, “I’m not the best featherweight in Bellator. I’m the best featherweight in the world. No other featherweight has my hands. I’m complete. Now, I have 11 knockouts and 11 submissions. There’s no other featherweight in the world that is as complete as I am.”

Starting as the aggressor in the first round, Patricio took Pedro to the mat with an early takedown. And once a tired-Pedro got up, he mas met with a massive right hand followed by another; eventually flooring him. In fact it was just another day in the life of Patricio Freire.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN tweeted of Patricio Freire’s performance saying, “Patricio Pitbull is scary, man. Unbelievable power, but doesn’t forfeit technique or accuracy when he lets it loose. He just hits different at that weight class. Easy work for the champ tonight to advance in Bellator’s featherweight tournament.
