WATCH: Patrick Beverley LAUNCHES ball at Pacers fan in heated altercation during playoffs
There is a good chance the NBA will suspend Beverley for this altercation.
Patrick Beverley gets into a heated altercation with an Indiana Pacers fan after launching the basketball at him
For Patrick Beverley and the Milwaukee Bucks, the playoff game today against the Indiana Pacers was a tough task. Especially with the leading superstars struggling with injuries, frustrations would kick in considering they were being outgunned by the young and hungry Pacers. To compound matters, Beverley got into a heated altercation with a Pacers fan sitting behind their bench.
With three minutes to go and the Indiana Pacers up by 20 points, cameras panned to the Bucks bench showing their substitutions. In that shot, Patrick Beverley launched a basketball toward a fan, missing him and hitting a female fan seated behind, on the side of the head. He then asked for the ball back, apologizing to the woman. But as soon as he got back the ball, he threw it again at the Pacers fan he wanted to hit in the first place. This brought out a heated altercation with the fans seated there.
Teammates came and stopped the defensive ace from making the matter worse. Arena security also stepped in and escorted the fans away. It paints a bad picture for the guard who has always been mixed up in situations involving players.
This situation might not go down well, as there is a chance the NBA will investigate the matter. Losing and quite badly at that, is no excuse for that kind of behavior. Maintaining one’s composure in an altercation is what is expected of sporting stars.
Charles Barkley thinks Patrick Beverley will get suspended for this incident
After the game, the crew of ‘Inside the NBA’ were talking about the incident and watching the replay. When Charles Barkley saw what transpired, he was bound to give his take.
He did that lady in the head. That’s just wrong. He’s gonna get suspended for that. And that’s gonna be a good one, too. Cause he didn’t do it once. He did it twice.
Charles Barkley said
The Hall of Famer was critical of Patrick Beverley resorting to a violent act, just to take out his anger. Barkley suggested that hitting a woman is not right, even though he did not target that lady.
Barkley expects the league to issue a long suspension, as not only did the Milwaukee Bucks star throw it once, but he also threw it the second time. He supposedly did not get his intended target of the first time around. It will also put his team in a bad light.
It will be a bad ending to the Milwaukee Bucks season. After all, several factors have been the talking points about the team, except basketball.
