Patrick Beverley SPILLS TRUTH about ‘Black Ops’ situation playing for Israeli team Tel Aviv
Now former NBA player, Patrick Beverley will suit up for Israeli basketball team Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Euro Cup.
Patrick Beverley has left the NBA and joined Israel team Hapoel Tel Aviv
The whole world is witnessing the events from Israel as they are in a continuous battle with Hamas. Many lives have been lost even though the rest of the world wants them to stop. But that did not deter Patrick Beverley from signing with Hapoel Tel Aviv for the next two seasons. But even the now former NBA defensive ace knows what to do if a life-threatening situation does arise.
The 36-year-old was speaking on his podcast, The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone. Rone asked him if he ended up in a situation where a bomb went off half a mile away. To this, Beverley replied:
Safety is important. If the bomb goes off. I'm gone.Patrick Beverley on The Pat Bev Podcast
He was clear that he would be gone, instead of sitting back and holding his ground. This is after speaking all that time on his podcast about the situation not being that bad. He referenced that many stories are not as true as the situation on the ground.
Therefore, this was an ultimatum type of question. Rone wanted to check if those reports were different from what he had heard.
But the 12-year NBA veteran has a family. This is why when push comes to shove, he knows personal safety is the most important thing. But even then, the Chicago native is hoping it will not come to that. Especially since he won’t be playing many games inside Israel.
Patrick Beverley and Hapoel Tel Aviv will play mostly in Europe
One of the primary reasons Patrick Beverley is undeterred about the war situation in Israel is because of the schedule. He mentioned this a bit later in the same episode:
We don't play a lot at home. Most of our Euro Cup games are in Bulgaria. Most of our home games are there.Patrick Beverley on The Pat Bev Podcast
Considering the war situation, Hapoel Tel Aviv must have thought it better to move their home games to the southeastern European nation. Moreover, it helps with the logistics as most of the games are in Europe.
Patrick Beverley is looking to continue to play basketball. After being traded multiple times over the past few seasons, he has struggled to get offers from NBA clubs. The low salary could also be one of the reasons he did not accept the few offers that did come through.
Therefore, as long as he can, he will continue playing. After all, he is no stranger to European basketball. Before playing regularly in the NBA, the guard played for three different clubs over four years. Having experienced the intense atmosphere of European games, it seems nothing deters him.
