“Think he Kyrie Irving” – Patrick Beverley’s UNREAL basketball skills in Tel Aviv practice sets internet on fire
Former NBA player Patrick Beverley has unreal first practice with new team Hapoel Tel Aviv ahead of Euro League.
Patrick Beverley has left the NBA to play in the Euro League with Hapoel Tel Aviv
Patrick Beverley played in the NBA for 12 seasons. In all those years, he was known for his defensive prowess more than his scoring ability. He did have a few good seasons early on, but in the latter stages, he was mostly a role player with a focus on disrupting the opposition’s best guard. Now, in Israel with Hapoel Tel Aviv, he seems to have a new lease of life with the Euro League coming up.
The 6′ 2″ guard is now 36 years old. It’s not a time when players have the sort of athleticism or skills to dominate younger players. But it seems the former All-Defensive 1st teamer has understood that his skills are still far superior to those of his new teammates. This is why a practice clip shared on his podcast’s official X account shows Beverley bringing out skills that he has not shown in the NBA.
Patrick Beverley has signed a 2-year contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv. For him, it was a means for him to earn a decent living. He acknowledged that he had offers from NBA teams. However, they were not enough for his family to be comfortable.
He knows there are risks to playing in Israel. But as most of the games will be played in Europe, he is not worried. Which is probably why he brought out his best. He certainly wants to prove to them that he has the skills to play well and for long.
Fans lose their mind watching Patrick Beverley bring out his skills
For basketball fans, it was nothing but pure entertainment. Watching Patrick Beverley make a teammate lose a step while guarding him, driving to the rim and scoring was astonishing. Even passing to a wide-open teammate when facing double teams in the paint remains on point. He is doing it all on offense, something he hasn’t done in a long time. No wonder fans were losing their mind.
They took to social media to comment on the former NBA guard’s newfound confidence and skills. Check out some of those reactions below;
If Patrick Beverley can make those skills work, then it could prolong his basketball career. He could make a name for himself in the Euro League. After all, he still wants to cash in on his athletic abilities and intelligence as long as he can.
