Hands down, Taylor Swift is one of the most popular names on the planet right now. She’s been revelling in the afterglow of success. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes admits that Swift’s not just killing it in the music world but also making waves by hooking girls into football.

Taylor Swift, one of the best-selling music artists with over 200 million records, started dating KC Chiefs TE Travis Kelce in 2023. Since Swift was first spotted in stands, The NFL has seen a significant increase in female viewership, particularly among young adults. According to Business Insider, there was a sharp increase of 53% and 35% in girls and young women aged 12-17 and 18-24 respectively for the Chiefs vs. Jets game on 31st September.

In an interview with Chris Simms, Mahomes admitted the role Swift has played in getting football to more audiences. He says that he loves how Swift’s entrance into the NFL has led many little girls to fancy the sport, leading to spending time with their dads. Mahomes, father to Sterling and Bronze, is a girl dad himself. Sterling and Bronze even share a special relationship with “Auntie Taylor.”

He also quipped that Swift is really interested in the sport and keeps badgering him with questions. He also cheekily said that she’s devising some plays in her mind and that one day, they might as well do it. This has brought fans in a twist, with some even making photoshops of Swift with Andy Reid, the Chiefs’ HC.

The singer is currently on a break from her Eras Tour after winding up a 5-day performance in London. Travis Kelce was spotted at the Wembley Stadium stage, being close to her after what happened in Vienna. The couple enjoyed some time together in Rhode Island during the break before pre-season.

Swift can ideally attend the game, considering that her next tour dates are in October. She will perform at Miami High Gardens for three days before heading to New Orleans and eventually ending her tour in Vancouver on December 8.
