As much as the Kansas City Chiefs superstar would want the fiascos of his father’s legal encounters to be swept under the mat, there appears to be no end to it. The former MLB pitcher once again found himself in legal trouble.

TMZ Sports reported via Court documents that Patrick Mahomes‘ father was busted for driving with an invalid license last month on June 29 in Tyler, Texas. He was initially spotted for violating the traffic signs and upon checking his driving license, it turned out to be invalid. He is scheduled to appear before the court on July 31 for violating the driving mandates.

This was Mahomes Sr.’s third arrest in a DWI case and given the strict DWI/DUI laws in Texas, he is likely to get a punishment of up to 10 years imprisonment. As per the state’s strict law in such cases, the first-time offender executes a bond of $2,000 and 120 days in County Jail. And since it was the quarterback’s father’s third strike, it would certainly not be taken lightly.

Patrick Mahomes’ father faces additional charges amid ongoing DWI case

This invalid driving license charge may be added to his ongoing pending legal matters. Given that he was arrested under a DWI case just five months ago, for which he is scheduled to appear before the court on July 22.

The 53-year-old’s previous arrest in Texas was made eight days before the Super Bowl game against the Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers where the odds were already against the former. However, Mahomes proved that he knows how to distinguish his personal and professional life when needed and he came through for his team with a 25-22 victory

Once again, the former Mets pitcher’s legal issues have aligned with his son’s professional commitments as the Chiefs are set to open for the training camp on July 21– the day before Mahomes’ father’s first hearing before the court.

Prior to these two, Mahomes Sr. had an extensive arrest code starting from March 2012 followed by September 2012, April 2018, and November 2018. He again got arrested in March 2019 for drunk driving and spent several weeks in jail.
