Kansas City Chiefs had years of misfortune and unpleasant seasons before Patrick Mahomes came onto the scene. However, Mahomes won’t be around for too long – having already decided on shortening his career way before the age Tom Brady retired.

Patrick Mahomes has been named one of the 2024 TIME100 Most Influential People. In an interview with the publication a year ago, Mahomes opened up about balancing his high-profile career with fatherhood. He and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, also 29, share three young children.

The quarterback, who recently became a father of three, admitted that he wishes to spend time with his daughter. Although he expressed that he wants to play for a long time, he doesn’t want it to take time away from his family.

I’ve looked, if I played until Tom [Brady’s] age, my daughter would be 19, 20 years old…I would love to play that long…At the same time, I want to be there for my daughter. If I can do that, I’ll continue to play. But if I feel like it’s taking away from my family time, that’s when I’ll know it’s time to go.

Sterling Skye Mahomes is already following her parents’ footsteps

Sterling Skye Mahomes is already following in her parents’ athletic footsteps. The three-year-old is set to begin soccer practice this week, as her mother, Brittany Mahomes, shared on Instagram Stories on July 25 last year.

Posting a photo of Sterling’s neon pink gear and gym bag, Brittany— a former professional soccer player and co-owner of the Kansas City Current—expressed her excitement.

“She’s gonna be the brightest one out there, let me tell ya.”

It’s no surprise that Sterling is already familiar with the game. According to Patrick Mahomes, she picked it up naturally without any formal training. Mahomes went on to share how Sterling instinctively started playing on her own.

“I didn’t even have to prepare her. We never taught her to play soccer, but she had watched games with us while attending Kansas City Current matches… She literally started just kicking soccer balls into the goal. We never taught her how to kick, never taught her how to play. That’s just who she is.

Patrick Mahomes also gushed about his son Bronze Lavon. He admitted his wish to hone his children’s sporting talents as they grow up, hoping he can guide them to become third generation athletes from the Mahomes lineage.
