Brittany Mahomes creating tension between her and Taylor Swift by endorsing Donald Trump and Travis Kelce going through a tough phase in the NFL are two separate situations. Yet social media found a way to connect the dots between the two.

Ever since Kelce began dating the pop icon, several theories have popped up like wildfire on the internet. Some of them proved to be legit, while the rest were made up hogwash for negative attention.

Another one recently surfaced, which seems too good to be true. After Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, hinted at supporting the Republican Party candidate for the upcoming USA presidential election, fans observed a small rift between her and Swift.

During both Chiefs games at Arrowhead, Brittany and Taylor sat at different places, seemingly announcing that something was wrong. People close to them were quick to deny any tension between the two ‘besties.’

A short while later, the news that Mahomes, 28, was contemplating her decision to back Donald Trump sent shockwaves through the front pages of the gossip columns.

While the tensions in the stands seldom affect results on the turf, it seems a section of the social media is inclined to believe there’s a connection between Travis Kelce’s recent dip in form and his political ideologies clashing with the Mahomes family. The Chiefs may be three for three at the start of the season, but the 34-year-old starting tight end has only contributed just 8 catches for 69 yards and zero touchdowns.

A post from ML Football on X (previously known as Twitter) speculated that perhaps Brittany’s right-leaning political ideologies differ from Kelce and Swift’s left-leaning ones. It further makes a claim that Mahomes is deliberately avoiding Kelce during games.

Even a staunch skeptic would think ten times before assuming the legitimacy of the claim. The reality is much different because when Patrick Mahomes was asked the reason for Kelce’s low numbers gave a nuanced reply.

Yeah, it's crazy because teams still—the respect factor they have for Travis is just unreal. It's well-deserved, but we're calling a lot of plays for Travis, and it's like two or three people are going to him. So, I mean, he understands.
