Taylor Swift and her music have transcended the impact on people that any other pop artist has ever had. Like everybody, Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes also knows it. In a recent media interaction, days prior to the Super Bowl, he lauded the singer for her influence.
Patrick Mahomes sat at the Chiefs’ press conference ahead of the Super Bowl to answer some grilling questions from the reporters. One of them included his close friend Travis Kelce‘s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and NBA star Stephen Curry.
The journalist asked Mahomes to pick one among the two and himself, concerning singing, shooting, and throwing abilities respectively. Surprisingly, he chose the Grammy award-winning singer, reasoning her scale of influence. He later added that the other two were nowhere near to competing with the global phenomenon that is Taylor Swift.
I mean, the arm’s awesome. But I am not inspiring billions and millions of people. I mean, I love Steph, man. he is the greatest shooter of all time, but he’s not Taylor Swift.

Ever since The Alchemy singer started dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and Swift have forged a strong bond. Mahomes’ wife Brittany Mahomes and Swift are also close friends. The association began when the latter started visiting the Arrowhead Stadium for Chiefs matches. Since then, they have often been spotted hanging out outside of the stadium.

However, it is understandable for the quarterback to have said that regardless of his connection to Taylor Swift. Notably, Swift has been recognized several times for spiking the league’s viewership. The Fortnight singer has affected plenty of young girls apart from Mahomes’ daughter and the QB gave insight into what it’s like for a ‘girl dad’.
In an interaction with Chris Simms, Patrick Mahomes expressed how women have accepted football and found a liking to the sport. Being a father of a young girl, he shared his delight in watching young girls spend time with their dads watching the game. Additionally, Mahomes confessed to that holding a special place for him.
It started with women turning on their screens to catch a glimpse of Swift at the game. However, seeing her invested, brought their attention to the sport itself. With Super Bowl coming up, the fans are deeply invested to see the Chiefs butt heads with the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams have a lot to gain, making the match all the more anticipating.
