Patrick Mahomes has laid down the ‘law’ to Louis Rees-Zammit ahead of the Chiefs’ pursuit of three-peat: “There’s not much time”
Since joining the Chiefs earlier this year, Louis Rees-Zammit has impressed the coaching staff and quarterback Patrick Mahomes with blistering pace and agility.

Louis Rees Zammit is part of the latest batch of players who joined the NFL through the International Player Pathway system. It provided athletes like Eagles OT Jordan Mailata in the past.
Rees-Zammit, 23, has played rugby since he was 12 years old and made the switch to football earlier this year. According to quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs have plans to use him mostly on the special teams as a punt return specialist and even as a running back after he showed tremendous agility during rookie camp.
We're starting him at running back. He'll do a lot of special team stuff, and he can actually catch.Patrick Mahomes said while appearing on the Riggles Picks Podcast
While Rees-Zammit has the talent to cut it in the NFL, he has to put in the extra work because the players around him have been playing football ever since they were kids. So, even after outdoor practice, the Welshman keeps grinding at home, learning the playbook until falling asleep.
The quarterbacks are very helpful, the likes of Pat (Mahomes), Carson (Wentz), everyone is so helpful, especially with me--A new guy coming in and not really knowing much about a playbook. They're trying to allow me to learn, give me time, but at the same time pushing me as hard as I can because I need to try and learn this quickly as there's not much time.Louis Rees Zammit said on Thursday during Chiefs training camp

Louis Rees Zammit first needs to secure his place on the Chiefs 53-man roster
Before even thinking about putting on the Chiefs jersey, Rees-Zammit has to prioritize getting on the team. He isn’t the only one fighting for a place.
The running back room is loaded with players like Isiah Pacheco, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Deneric Prince. So, he must impress the coaches at the camp and during the pre-season.
My goal is to be part of the team. I know that special teams will be important for me, [and] I've worked really hard, learning the playbook—the roles of the running backs, understanding pass protection, and my receiver routes.Louis Reese-Zammit added

He has support from Mahomes, who praised Zammit’s quick feet and athleticism.
He works his tail off. The athletic ability is unreal. He's got the toughness, but until he gets in the game and understands how to move and how to use that athletic ability, you don't know exactly where he's at.Mahomes said per Yahoo.com
Rees-Zammit became a household name after signing with the Chiefs. In June, he attended Taylor Swift’s concert with his brother in Wales, marking himself as a Swiftie.
