It’s easy to mistake Dylan Raiola for Patrick Mahomes. The five-star Nebraska Cornhuskers recruit has an uncanny similarity with the three-time Super Bowl winner.
On Wednesday, new Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola arrived at the Cornhuskers practice, but his get-up reminded everyone of Mahomes. He already had the build, and from the curly hairstyle to the long shades, the 19-year-old looked almost identical to the Chiefs quarterback.
His photo went viral and was shared thousands of times on social media, which eventually caught the eye of former Chiefs and current Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill. He found it hard to believe the uncanny similarity.

The 4 times NFL MVP came across the post and retweeted it with the caption, “That’s my lil cuzzo.”

Despite his looks, Dylan isn’t remotely related to Patrick Mahomes. Raiola is the son of former Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola and the godson of former Lions and current Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
With Nebraska, I always believed it was in my blood; it was in my heart [ffor a long time]. I just felt that I could be a part of something special, that’s bigger than myself. Lincoln, Nebraska, is a great place, and the University of Nebraska is a special place to have a college experience and play sports with some of the best fans.Dylan Raiola said after joining the Huskers, per Rivals.com
Dylan was a 5-star recruit coming out of high school and verbally committed to play for the Oklahoma Sooners before deciding to enter the transfer portal to play for USC. He eventually joined Nebraska as possibly their future starter.
Dylan Raiola wanted to train with Patrick Mahomes
While there’s no connection between the two individuals, Raiola did want to train and learn from Patrick Mahomes and his trainer, Bobby Stroupe. In April Raiola told Sam McKewon of Huskers Extra about his wishes.
I just want to be around greatness. Obviously, he's going down as one of the greats already. But just trying to take it all in and elevate my game as much as I can.Dylan Raiola said
Before you ask “has anyone ever seen Patrick Mahomes & Dylan Raiola in the same room before…?”

Yes, yes they have. https://t.co/wGj3SWi90Y pic.twitter.com/8ZA44tAaSf
Mahomes hasn’t commented on whether he would agree to a private training session. Regardless, it will be interesting to see both individuals side-by-side training throwing slants and deep balls.
