‘Freakazoid’ Patrick Mahomes makes Chiefs better than Patriots dynasty with Tom Brady, says former QB

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have booked their tickets to their third straight Super Bowl. That also means the superstar quarterback has another chance of establishing himself as one of the best to ever play as he inches closer to Tom Brady‘s record.
Tom Brady was part of a New England Patriots dynasty that was built on the premise of a few fundamental rules. One was to establish a great defense, second was to ensure Brady always had at least one great receiver, and along with that, they focused on building stud offensive and defensive lines.
If one looks closer, Andy Reid and Brett Veach have constructed the Kansas City Chiefs similarly. Their three Super Bowls in five seasons are proof of that method. But former QB and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky feels Mahomes is the difference between the two dynasties.
The analyst clarified that Tom Brady is the greatest of all time. But the way Patrick Mahomes plays, he helps clear some of the deficits and helps unlock plays which Brady could never do. His execution of the designed QB run late in the game is proof of that logic.
"The Chiefs are going back [to the Super Bowl] because they are everything that the Patriots were, with a freakazoid at quarterback. Tom Brady wasn't the freakazoid, he's the greatest of all time. Patrick [Mahomes] is the best player I've ever seen."

Orlovsky and die-hard fans of Tom Brady know he would never bulldoze two or three defenders on his way to the end zone the way Mahomes did. Along with that, the 29-year-old has an unreal array of throws in his bag.
Patrick Mahomes might have to rely on his passing wizardry against Eagles
Time and again, football fans have seen Patrick Mahomes bring out an unreal pass. Be it behind the back, sidearm, or tosses while being tackled by multiple defenders that can leave defenders helpless. This season, the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense has become the league’s standard.
Possessing an elite D-line, linebacking core, pass rushers and defensive backs, they are stacked front to back. Even losing Brandon Graham to an injury has allowed younger stars to shine. The unit is scary enough where opposing quarterbacks are on their toes all the time.
But great quarterbacks are capable of dissecting such defenses. Patrick Mahomes faced the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII two seasons ago. But most of the personnel in that unit are not starting. Instead, they have a younger, faster and hungrier group wanting to make a name for themselves.
