With the NFL trade deadline closing in, it is tough for family members of GMs and front-office executives to get through, as they are in one of the busiest times of the year. Every team wants to get a hold of someone who can make their respective teams that little bit better. Among the myriad of players getting calls from their agents is Los Angeles Rams star WR Cooper Kupp.

Cooper Kupp is generally not one of the names that teams look to target owing to his loyalty to his team. But the 31-year-old has struggled with injuries and has not been able to rediscover his Super Bowl MVP-winning form. With the Rams seemingly looking to rejig their roster, they now want to move on.

The Athletic’s NFL Insider Dianna Russini first caught a whiff and pursued the Rams until she received details of what they were looking for. Once she received confirmation, she took to her X account to reveal the details.

This news confirms the Los Angeles Rams are looking to move on from their superstar receiver. But what it brings up are the possibilities for top contenders to take a shot at Cooper Kupp. When healthy, he is still as dynamic as one can get. There is a reason why he was the NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

Patrick Mahomes and Super Bowl contending teams lead the charge for Cooper Kupp

With a receiver of his quality available, the general notion would be that teams wanting to contend for the Super Bowl will be the obvious destinations. Prime among the list could be Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. They are struggling with consistency down the field, something Kupp brings with him in spades.

Another recent team to struggle with injuries to their wideouts is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They lost both their starters in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens this Monday. Even if they are back healthy, Kupp’s versatility and lack of the ‘diva’ attitude can see him contribute from the slot.

Their opponents, the Ravens, could also be in play. They looked like they would be better with another top receiver on their roster. Other than them, the Pittsburgh Steelers could make a run, and so could some other playoff teams looking for that extra spark. Cooper Kupp will likely have a lot of suitors.
