Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense knew heading into the AFC Championship game that they would have to turn the heat up. The Buffalo Bills defense is tricky to figure out, meaning they would need to get creative.

Towards the first few minutes of the fourth quarter, the home team was trailing their opponents by a point. Along with that, Patrick Mahomes was on his feet with his helmet still on nervous about the possibility of the Bills scoring and extending that lead.

A similar situation led to them losing to the Bills in the regular season and they knew they had to get the ball back. Two controversial goal line stops later, Mahomes got the ball back into his hands on a turnover of downs.

That gave them the chance to start closer to the center of the field and the three-time Super Bowl MVP QB started off with a scramble. He then threw a brilliant pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster for a big gain, after which Kareem Hunt ran up some more.

Now the Chiefs snapped at the Bills ten-yard line and Mahomes ran to his right. In what would be a designed QB run, he kept running and saw partner in crime Travis Kelce deliver a crucial block ahead of him.

He followed the block, shed two tackles and lowered his shoulders into the end zone with the ball clutched tightly. When he got up, he knew the touchdown gave them the lead, and he was hyped enough to try a spike. The ball slipped out of his hands, but he didn’t care as he kept screaming.

After that hyped up play, he signaled a two-point conversion try and returned to the huddle. He then converted a pass to wide receiver Justin Watson that ensured they had a one score lead. However, it was not enough, as there was still time left on the clock.

Josh Allen and the Bills came back on the next drive to score a touchdown and level the score. On the next drive, the Chiefs defense stopped them from scoring another touchdown. However, they managed to get a field goal that gave them the lead back.

On the following drive, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills had the chance of a lifetime. They had the ball in their hands with a little over three minutes left in the game. All they had to do was score and the Chiefs would not get enough time to do the same.

But they were not the only ones who knew the task at hand. Chris Jones and his defense blitzed Allen and stopped them from converting a first down. Their 32-29 win earned them a chance to become the first team in NFL history to win three-straight Super Bowls.
