Patrick McEnroe thinks Novak Djokovic will no longer be a part of the tour after 2025. Last year, Djokovic lifted seven titles, including three majors. He is yet to win his first ATP title this year, failing to win a Grand Slam trophy for the first time since 2017.

The only title Djokovic won this year was the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, where he defeated Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets. Though Djokovic wants to add more to his trophy cabinet, McEnroe thinks it would be hard for the Serb to do so.

I think this [next year] will be his last year. It’s got to be very tough to win more majors. If the Australian Open starts tomorrow, he is the third favorite. That’s pretty solid.

This season, Djokovic made it to the semifinals of the Australian Open, which he lost to Jannik Sinner. At the French Open, he withdrew from the quarterfinals after injuring his knee.

He then reached his first Grand Slam final of the season at the Wimbledon Championships but succumbed to a straight-set defeat against Alcaraz, before bowing out of the US Open following his third-round defeat.

Patrick McEnroe thinks Novak Djokovic is still in the mix despite questioning his ability

Though Patrick McEnroe questioned Novak Djokovic‘s ability to win more Grand Slam trophies, he lauded him for winning the Olympic gold on clay. He also thinks there’s a lack of good grass-court players which is why the 37-year-old may end up winning another Wimbledon title.

He is obviously still in the mix in a big way. There’s no doubt he can win the Australian Open. He won the Olympics on clay, which was amazing. Yes, he can win one or two more… Wimbledon, obviously. There are still not that many great grass-court players.

Djokovic has won seven Wimbledon titles, last lifting the trophy in 2022 with a four-set win over Nick Kyrgios. He recently participated in the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh; while on the ATP Tour, he progressed to his second final, at the Shanghai Masters, losing to Jannik Sinner in straight sets.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion recently withdrew from the ongoing Paris Masters, which he has won seven times. His participation in the ATP Tour Finals in Turin is also uncertain, as he once stated that his priority was the Grand Slam events.
