The LIV Golf Adelaide event is one of the hottest events of the LIV Golf calendar. Unlike the other events, the Adelaide one has been a huge success for the 54-hole circuit. On Thursday during the first round, the fans at the Grange Golf Club went wild as Patrick Reed made an ace at the ‘watering hole’.
The par 3 12th hole is one of the attractions of this event. Two years ago, Brooks Koepka‘s brother Chase Koepka made an ace at this hole. At that time, the fans present inside the course would go into a frenzy. A similar reaction was seen after Patrick Reed’s ace.
The 2018 Masters Champion started the event on the 11th hole and made a bogey on the par 4 11th hole. He bounced back strongly with a hole-in-one at the very next hole.
His tee shot would land perfectly on the green and after a quick roll found its way in. The 4Aces star would jump and down and celebrate wildly with his caddie as he made a hole-in-one. The fans on the other hand would throw down plastic beer cups in celebration.

There have been a few aces in golf in recent weeks. At the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Rory McIlroy and his Zurich Classic of New Orleans partner, Shane Lowry both made aces on the same day.
Last week, similar scenes of fans going wild were seen at the Waste Management Phoenix Open when Emiliano Grillo hit a slam dunk ace. Just like the fans at the Grange Country Club, spectators at the TPC Scottsdale erupted in joy as the golfer made a hole-in-one at the iconic 16th hole.

On X, fans were left divided. While some celebrated Reed’s hole-in-one moment, some fans took a shot at him again. One user compared the atmosphere between this event and the WM Phoenix Open and dubbed the latter as “snoozefest”.

I almost liked this but then realized it was two of my least favorite things, LIV and Reed.

God why does it have to be Patrick Reed

Fatty reed has finally found a crowed that likes him, it’s kind of a cute story. The smile isn’t for the hole in 1 but the fact he isn’t hated by the Liv crowd

Cool not really no one gives af. Also why is throwing your beer on other people a thing? They dont do that in any other sport.

Last year, Reed had a decent outing in this event. While being 5-under and 6-under in the first two rounds, he shot even par in the final round to finish T22. He would hope to put up a similar performance this time out.
