Patriots hiring Josh McDaniels again as OC has fans trolling the franchise: “Must have the Kraft Parlor tapes as blackmail!”
Mike Vrabel comes in to the New England Patriots without a coaching staff and had Josh McDaniels available.

Mike Vrabel taking up the head coaching position with the New England Patriots was met with a lot of fanfare. Fans of the franchise were happy that they finally had a leader of men at the helm, who also happened to be a former player.
Owner Robert Kraft went with a former player last season too when he hired Jerod Mayo. But that experiment fizzled out, and he was let go after one season. Vrabel, however, has prior experience being the head coach of the Tennessee Titans.
Mike Vrabel, though, needed a new coaching staff, as his previous coaches are still working in other roles. He still wants to get hold of Robert Saleh as his DC, but with the OC position open, he followed Kraft’s philosophy of hiring back former personnel. Barstool Sports’ Kirk Minihane first broke news of this on X.
Kirk Minihane has broken a lot of insider news from the Patriots before. As soon as his report spread, the usual suspects, Ian Rapoport and NFL’s own X confirmed it. Details of the contract is now known, but Vrabel preferred to go with the unemployed Josh McDaniels as the OC.
Sources: Josh McDaniels will be named offensive coordinator of the Patriots. Announcement is imminent.

This might not be a surprise as many highly revere McDaniels as an OC. His head coaching record in two stops, most recently with the Las Vegas Raiders, might be cringeworthy. But as an OC, Vrabel knows he is making a safe yet brilliant decision.
Fans take shots at Patriots for hiring Josh McDaniels again
For football fans though, the name Josh McDaniels brings up a lot of memories. Some are from his days with the Denver Broncos and Raiders, than a lot more from his days as OC for the New England Patriots. Fans have seen him come back to the franchise more times than leaving it. That saw them taking to social media to troll the Patriots.
On one hand they feel that the Patriots do not have other options other than McDaniels. On the other hand, they feel as if the OC has some dirt on owner Robert Kraft. Examples of all those troll comments are below.

Too bad. Hoping for better, but Kraft loves friendly faces.

Eventually you have to leave home base can’t keep recycling everything Bill brought in without BILL

Of course they will because why wouldn’t Robert Kraft do so.

Trolling apart, this move will benefit all three parties involved. Josh McDaniels knows all too well that he might not get another job elsewhere. Mike Vrabel wants someone who can get the best out of even mediocre quarterbacks. Lastly, the Patriots have a familiar face to deal with.
With Drake Maye entering his sophomore season, having a stable hand in the form of McDaniels could be the best way forward. He has shown flashes of why the franchise was so high on him before the draft. Now if Vrabel and the GM can build a team that can take advantage of his skill, the Patriots could shock many.
