Patriots potentially trading Eagles AJ Brown for draft picks doesn’t sit well with NFL fans – “Diggs is enough of a diva we don’t need 2”
As per an Eagles insider, the Philly organization are preparing to offer AJ Brown to the Patriots in return for their 4th overall pick to draft Abdul Carter.

AJ Brown’s days with the Philadelphia Eagles may be numbered. The Super Bowl champs are reportedly concocting a trade proposal to send their star receiver to the New England Patriots.
Hosts of the WEEI Afternoon, a radio show dedicated to the Patriots, received a phone call. The caller revealed the Eagles are very interested in taking the fourth overall pick out of the Patriots’ hands in exchange for AJ Brown.
The caller claimed the Eagles are a big fan of Abdul Carter. Even though the Penn State pass rusher is projected to go third to the New York Giants, he might also slide down one spot to fourth.
If Abdul Carter were to fall to fourth… how would you feel about a certain team that recently won the Super Bowl calling up your New England Patriots in desperation and want of Abdul Carter and offering a certain wide receiver who has admitted that he loves New England and would love to play for the Patriots and possibly more selections in a blockbuster draft day [AJ Brown] trade?
the caller revealed
Deciphering the name of the receiver isn’t that hard. AJ Brown loves the Patriots and grew up in an era when the Boston franchise dominated football.
The Philadelphia Eagles really really want Abdul Carter and that they would consider or rather are planning to call [your] New England Patriots on draft day if Carter falls to four to see if Mike Vrabel would like a reunion with AJ Brown and possibly more draft selections and compensations.

NFL fans are unhappy with the AJ Brown trade rumors
Brown didn’t have the best season last year. The Eagles ran the ball with Saquon Barkley at every chance, reducing the former second-rounder’s yardage through the air. He wasn’t thrilled about not seeing enough of the ball and seemed to be losing interest in the game by the end of the 2024 campaign.

On top of it, Brown has been showing off his Patriots jersey collection as of late. He received a Tom Brady jersey last month, and a few days ago, he unveiled a jersey from ex-Patriots WR Julian Edelman. This created a stir on the internet that Brown has a desire to join the Patriots.
Awesome: Eagles star WR AJ Brown got a signed Julian Edelman jersey in the mail today.

Naturally, trade specialists went to work to figure out a scenario in which the Patriots could trade for the 27-year-old during the draft. Sleeper HQ’s Carlos A. Lopez proposed that the Eagles should send AJ Brown along with their 32nd pick in 2025 and a second-round pick in 2026 in return for the Patriots’ fourth pick in 2025 to draft Abdul Carter. The suggestion didn’t receive a good rating.
What kind of crack do these mfs take these days? First ballot hall of famer in his prime and TWO PICKS for an unknown draft pick. If Carter was that good he would go first overall no doubt. https://t.co/8r4rjGuBou

Patriots say no. On the trade value chart:
— Steve Marchand (@marchandsteve) April 18, 2025
#4 is 2200.
#32 is 590.
A low 2nd rounder next yr is about 200.
I'm not even sure I'd do it for their '25 and '26 #1 & #2 plus Brown. The picks are going to be too low, and Brown is expensive & turning 30. This is dumb.
The $90M in dead cap for 2025 for AJB makes this unrealistic pic.twitter.com/cG1rC0BZbJ

Fuck that! Diggs is enough of a diva we don’t need 2. They need a rb and @AshtonJeanty2 is the perfect player

Patriots say no. To move from 32 to 4 would require two 1s an AJB would be considered the 2nd round pick

The reigning Super Bowl champs say no, that's who.

I would say “no” to the trade, they are basically taking a 2nd pick for the next few seasons, and AJ is hitting the 30 club. I would take the young blue chip player and keep developing my roster through the draft. I would need a lot more in that trade

Fuck no patriots would not do that fuckin trade lmao

imo the trade would have to look something like:
— Thomas (@Winston_Wolfe) April 18, 2025
– Patriots get AJ Brown, a ‘25 1st/32, two ‘25 5th rd. picks 164 & 165, and a ‘26 2nd
– Eagles get 2025 1st/4 and both of NE’s ‘25 7th rd. picks 220 & 238
That’s equating Brown’s value in the trade to a 1st rd. pick in the 20’s
The 4th pick is tough but if Carter is there you take him and hope you win the AJB sweepstakes following year. Seems to want to play for Patriots and former coach especially if Maye looks good. Already won a SB and now wants to play for his childhood team. Load up for that.

The proposal isn’t half bad for the Patriots. The only issue would be the monetary side of the deal. Otherwise, they get a Super Bowl winner and the 32nd pick on top of holding nine total picks in this year’s draft.
