FC Barcelona are masters at developing talent. Be it smart transfers from lower Leagues or integrating La Masia players into the first team, the Blaugrana are as good as it gets. The club took on eternal rivals Real Madrid in pre-season as part of their tour in the United States. Even though Los Blancos fielded a total of ten regular starters in the game, it was an unsuspecting Pau Victor that grabbed all the headlines.

After scoring 18 goals with Barcelona B while on loan, the player was finally incorporated into the first team by Hansi Flick. The Spaniard did not disappoint the German’s trust in him, as proven by his red-hot form. Barcelona have their No.8, Victor to thank for their 2-1 win over Carlo Ancelotti‘s men on Saturday night.

The forward grabbed his first from an easy tap-in set up by veteran Robert Lewandowski. The 22-year-old did well to make himself available inside the area, even though his finish was into an empty net.

After running rings round Real Madrid‘s defense, Victor finally grabbed his second from a well-worked goal in the 54th minute. Fans were thrilled to see the younger put on a show at MetLife Stadium.

On X, a fan expressed his shock at the fact that his three goals for the club came against Manchester City and Real. Another added that the player was only getting started and will be the perfect heir to Robert Lewandowski’s position in due time.

An excited fan said that it only took a 22-year-old to get the better of UCL winners Madrid. A few said that if Flick unlocks the potential of La Masia and successfully manages to integrate them into the first team, it was over for Real. Despite his impressive goals, rival fans reminded that it was only a pre-season friendly and that official competitions are what matters.

It was evident that Pau Victor outshone Madrid’s heavily anticipated signingEndrick. A quick comparison of the latter’s performance to that of Victor’s revealed that Endrick only managed one shot, that too which was off-target. As Lewandowski suffers a huge dip in form, it cannot be ruled out that Victor can cement his position in the first team with some good performances.
