On Saturday night, Team Canada and Team USA locked horns in a thrilling game. In the first competitive meeting between the two teams in over 9 years, the United States came out as 3-1 winners against their arch-rivals. Paul Bissonnette would later criticize Canada and claimed there was “lots to clean up“.
Canada came into this game on the back of an overtime 4-3 victory against Sweden in the opening game. Whereas, the United States demolished Team Finland 6-1 en route to this game.
Once again the United States fell behind as Connor McDavid ran through the field and tucked it past Connor Hellebuyck to make it 1-0 for Canada. USA fought back and scored in each period to clinch the game 3-1 and book their spot in next week’s championship game.
Bissonnette, who was present at the Bell Centre in Montreal during this game, took to his X account to make his feelings known. He pointed out several points in his tweet while claiming that the Americans played a great game.
Brutal loss. Lots to clean up for Canada. Couldn’t forecheck. Line changes were awful. Too slow. Too much cross ice fluff the USA wasn’t falling for. Americans played a great game. #4nations

With Finland’s 4-3 OT victory over their rivals, Sweden, things have got interesting. While the USA are through to the final, the other three teams are leveled on 2 points after two games. On Monday, night Canada will take on Finland. Though they are the heavy favorites to win that match, a slip-up in this match could cost them.
Paul Bissonnette gets brutally trolled following Canada’s loss to USA
The stakes were super high on Saturday when Canada and the USA faced off. It was likely that the losing team would end up getting heavily trolled on social media. While fans did take a swipe at Canada, Paul Bissonnette found himself on the receiving end as well.

The former NHLer had been hyping up his country the entire day. After Connor McDavid opened the scoring, he would call him “McJesus” while celebrating the goal on X.
Unfortunately for “Biz Nasty”, things took a turn later on. USA would score thrice with Jake Geuntzel scoring twice between Dylan Larkin‘s second-period strike.
After the game, the official account of NHL on TNT would troll Bissonnette. They would share an AI image of him in a Canadian sweater holding the letter “L” as if to signal him to hold the loss. Check out that post below:

The loss on Saturday also broke a long streak of Canada. This was the first time they had lost a competitive hockey game with Sidney Crosby in their lineup since 2010.
Since the loss against the United States in the preliminary rounds of the Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, Canada had gone on a winning run. They had won 26 games in which Crosby was in the lineup. The veteran forward and his teammates will now be looking to bounce back on Monday night and set up a rematch with USA on Thursday.
