On Thursday night, Canada took home another international title as Connor McDavid etched his name in hockey history. The Edmonton Oilers captain scored an overtime winner for his side and helped them clinch the 4 Nations Face-Off against Team USA. After the game, Paul Bissonnette visibly lost it.

Bissonnette, the player-turned-analyst, had kept on hyping up Canada throughout the tournament. After they lost 3-1 on Saturday against the United States, he criticized the team and claimed there were many things they needed to improve on.

On Thursday after taking the lead against their opponents, they fell 2-1 down. However, a goal from Sam Bennett would level the game once again in the second period. The match eventually went into overtime after the two teams failed to score in the third period.

In overtime, the big moment came at the 8:18 minute mark. After winning a faceoff, McDavid would attempt a shot on goal. While his shot did not go in, Canada regained possession of the puck a few seconds later. Mitch Marner would find him in some space and pass it to him. After that McDavid did what many expected off him.

McDavid’s goal seemingly broke the internet as thousands of fans started sharing their reactions regarding their win. Bissonnette, who is highly active on social media, would share an NSFW message while wildly celebrating the overtime winner of McDavid.

For his efforts in this match, Connor McDavid was named as the MVP of the match. On the other hand, the 2023-24 NHL MVP Nathan MacKinnon was judged the 4 Nations Face-Off MVP as well.

Hours before the game, Trump called the US team and spoke with them in the dressing room. The 47th US President wished them well and gave them a pep talk for this big match.

Unfortunately for him, Team USA ended up on the losing side. Several fans would attack Trump for his words and seemingly blamed him for the loss.

Bissonnette was among those who mocked Trump online. In a tweet on X, “Biz Nasty” dropped a 5-word reaction with three laughing emojis.
