On Monday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins suffered a crushing 7-1 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Stars at the PPG Arena. This huge loss has led to former NHLer Paul Bissonnette proposing a trade deal for Penguins’ captain Sidney Crosby.

The home side found themselves in trouble early on as they conceded three goals after just 10 minutes. Starting goaltender Joel Blomqvist was then taken off the game in favor of Alex Nedeljkovic.

The move, though, did not bring in any change in fortunes for the Pens. They ended up conceding three more to go 6-0 down in the first period. Anthony Beauvillier pulled one back for his side to make it 6-1. However, the Stars would have the last laugh and walk away as 7-1 winners.

Reacting to this result, Bissonnette would take to his X account and expressed that the veteran forward should be traded to the Colorado Avalanche.

Crosby to the Avalanche. Do it for hockey.

This is though not the first time that “Biz Nasty” has suggested a trade offer regarding Crosby. After the Penguins lost 6-1 to the Edmonton Oilers in March this year, the co-host of Spittin’ Chiclets reposted a clip of Crosby’s comment regarding trade deadlines and wrote, “Crosby to Colorado confirmed.”

The analyst has also admitted that this move would not happen but claimed that this move would “blow our brains out“. He urged the fans to pretend about a forward partnership between Crosby and probably Nathan MacKinnon.

Whether Bissonnette’s wish to see Crosby play for any other team in the league comes true or not remains to be seen. In 17 games this season, the 37-year-old has picked up a total of 16 points (six goals and 10 assists).

The Pens have now lost their last three out of four games, leaving them with a 6-9-2 record. They will look to bounce back from this disappointment on Wednesday night when they welcome the Detroit Red Wings.
