“He grew up idolizing Kobe” – Paul George calling Clippers ‘B team’ goes wrong after fans troll players for ‘lying’
Paul George did not secure a championship during his five seasons with the Clippers.

Paul George
Nine-time All-Star Paul George was one of the hottest free agents this off-season. Many teams wanted to sign George after his departure from the Los Angeles Clippers. But George decided to move to the Eastern Conference and joined the Philadelphia Sixers. George signed a four-year $212 million max deal with the Sixers.
On his “Podcast P with Paul George”, George talked about how the Los Angeles fans told him to join the Los Angeles Lakers instead of the Clippers. Regardless of their performance on court, Los Angeles has always been a home to the Lakers.
Paul even stated that he felt like he was playing for a B-team when he played for the Clippers. As a result, many NBA fans accused George of lying, as he had stated before in 2019, that he grew up as a Clippers fan.
In 2019, when Paul George and Kawhi Leonard decided to join the Clippers, it was the first when two marquee-free agents chose the Clippers instead of the Lakers. George is in his time with the Clippers only managed to reach the conference finals once in five years. George and Leonard proved to be a big failure together, as they couldn’t deliver the promise of a championship to the team.
Paul George will now be joining former MVP Joel Embiid and All-Star guard, Tyrese Maxey. Sixers fans are happy to have George as a part of the team. He averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists last season. His numbers might have gone down, but George is playing the most effective basketball of his career. The Sixers have certainly become the title favorites for the next season and can be a great competition to the Boston Celtics.
Fans react to George’s old video of growing up as Clippers fan
This off-season, NBA fans witnessed shocking signings and trades. Certainly, the biggest one yet was Paul George leaving the Clippers and joining the Sixers.
After his statement on the podcast, a video went viral from the past about George when he said that he grew up as a Clippers fan, contradicting his current claims. Fans had a wide spectrum of reaction to it.
George will hope to win his first championship with the Sixers alongside a great cast. For the current times, he would like to get past the hate from the NBA fans for his viral comments.
