NBA star Paul George joined the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason. Recently, he had teammate Tyrese Maxey on his podcast. On the podcast, George made a hilarious joke about Maxey’s height, which caught the basketball community’s attention. It referenced Michael Jordan‘s old joke about the Milkman.
In a lighthearted conversation regarding Maxey’s height, George brought up basketball superstar Michael Jordan’s old joke. It all started when Maxey revealed the height of his parents. He said they were not taller than 5’9. Maxey is 6’2. As such, PG immediately referenced what Michael Jordan had said in the past.

In addition, the NBA community was quick to remind George that the joke was originally made by Jordan back in his prime years as a professional player. Despite the lighthearted joking, it was taken well by Tyrese Maxey. It was a good showcase of new teammates bonding. The 76ers have one goal in mind for the upcoming season: winning the championship.
George, who just signed with the 76ers through the 2024 NBA Free Agency, said he was excited to play with Maxey and Joel Embiid. In addition, with the Boston Celtics winning the 2024 NBA title, the 76ers have strengthened their roster in a bid to go head-to-head for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season. Only time will tell how the Big 3 of Philadelphia will perform in the upcoming season.
Michael Jordan and his unique sense of humor gave rise to the “milkman” joke
Most people agree that Michael Jordan is one of the best basketball stars ever. Also, MJ was a very good trash talker, which was one of his key abilities. It’s important to note that the basketball community was won over by the Chicago Bulls legend’s humorous persona off the court, in addition to his exceptional basketball skills.
An old David Letterman interview was a fantastic illustration of Jordan’s distinct sense of humor. Being the tallest member of his family prompted MJ to respond humorously
I'm the tallest. My father is about 5'10, my mother is about 5'5, everyone else is about 5'6.5, 5'7. The milkman is about 6'7 (laughs).Michael Jordan via The David Letterman Show
In addition, this particular statement gave rise to the “Milkman” joke that has become a very famous meme in today’s generation. The most recent example of this joke was when Paul George trolled Tyrese Maxey’s height on his podcast. Interestingly, the “milkman” joke has been running for years in the sport, and it now remains to be seen if someone comes up with something new shortly.
