Paul George references Will Smith

After 5 years of playing with the Los Angeles Clippers and playing alongside Kawhi Leonard, Paul George has finally decided to leave the team to join the Philadelphia Sixers. George has signed a four-year $212 million maximum deal with the Sixers. The Sixers have gone all in this offseason by signing George and have become a stronger team.

Recently, Paul George shared an analogy about his transition from the Western Conference to the Eastern Conference. George talked about his move related to Will Smith from his show “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” George jokingly stated that in the show Smith had to move from Philly to Beverly Hills with his uncle. George’s transition from West to East was not easy but he still received a warm welcome from all the Philly fans.

I love the city, it's been great since day one. "Being here, I think I can make the transition. If Will Smith can go to Beverly Hills, I think I can come to Philadelphia.

George will be joining former MVP Joel Embiid and All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey. The Sixers have already become one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference alongside the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks. The Sixers’ plan with George has to be a success right away as George is already in the back end of his prime.

In his last season, Paul George averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists. While his numbers have gone down, George is certainly playing the most effective basketball of his career. With all the players staying healthy for the playoffs this team is certainly unstoppable.

Paul George’s time with the Clippers was a failure

The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers have been known to share the same arena. But in terms of history and championships, the Clippers are nowhere close to the Lakers’ dominance. Many NBA superstars have chosen the Lakers over the Clippers most of the time.

In 2019, Paul George decided to join forces with Kawhi Leonard and become a part of the Los Angeles Clippers. It was the first time two marquee-free agents chose the Clippers instead of the Lakers. Even after the addition of James Harden and Russell Westbrook, they couldn’t find any real success.

George’s time with the Clippers is considered as a failure by many NBA fans and experts. George and Kawhi Leonard were expected to win the Clippers their first championship but that proved to be the furthest thing as the Clippers only made it to the Conference finals.
