Paul George reveals two NBA Champions that can compare to LeBron James’ son

Paul George reveals LeBron James' son Bronny James' skills are comparable to NBA Champions Jrue Holiday and Derrick White

Bronny James is preparing to become a professional basketball player. With the 2024 NBA Draft only a week away, teams are still in the process of evaluating LeBron James‘ son. The most obvious answer is that he is a capable 3-and-D player whose skills translate more to the NBA than college basketball. Paul George, however, thinks the former USC freshman has a lot in common with NBA Champions Jrue Holiday and Derrick White.

Bronny James‘ draft situation is the hottest topic in the NBA right now. A co-host of his podcast, Podcast P with Paul George, asked George of his opinion about his compatriot’s son.

What’s most impressive is just his basketball savviness, like his basketball IQ. He can do it all. I feel like he hasn’t shown that he can really be elite at a lot of things, but I think he can be elite at a lot of things. I compare him to like the Jrue Holiday, the Derrick Whites. Guys that are glue guys that can go do everything on the floor and help you win. That's how I see him. He doesn’t need to be a star.

The Los Angeles Clippers superstar pitched his opinion after seeing James Jr. play in front of him. Therefore, he thinks the 19-year-old could become like the two Boston Celtics champions.

Jrue Holiday is easily one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA, a trait which has been his hallmark throughout his career. But the now 2-time champion also possesses a good three-point shot and the ability to direct play, skills that are also part of Derrick White‘s repertoire.

If Paul George thinks that Bronny James has similar skills, then the sky is the limit for the soon to be NBA rookie. LeBron James‘ son has the makings to have a solid NBA career.

Bronny James has interest from few teams

All the talk so far has been that the Los Angeles Lakers is the most likely destination for Bronny James. However, James Jr.’s agent Rich Paul revealed that the Mavericks could be interested in the player while speaking to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.

Nico Harrison is like an uncle to Bronny. If the Lakers don't take him at 55, Dallas would take him at 58 and give him a guaranteed deal. Masai loves him.

In essence, the Dallas Mavericks and the Toronto Raptors are interested in drafting the 19-year-old. Therefore, if the Lakers do show any signs of hesitation, it is possible he will be drafted elsewhere.

Naturally, having his father in LA makes it easier for him to get a guaranteed contract. If he lands on any other team in the second round, the max they could offer is a two-way deal. But Paul suggested that the Mavericks and Raptors could offer him a guaranteed contract.

Both the teams are in the market for a solid 3-and-D player. What better than to give a LeBron James’ son a minimum deal, allowing them to spend money on other players?
