Paul Heyman is arguably the best professional wrestling manager of all time. Apart from his on-screen persona and microphone skills, he has an incredible mind for the business. He continues to work in the professional wrestling industry at the age of 59 and is responsible for the success of many superstars in WWE.
Speaking to Jazzys World TV, Paul Heyman was asked why he had so much success in the professional wrestling industry. The Wiseman recalled a few harsh words from his deceased mother, which had helped him throughout his journey. His mother, Sulamita, unfortunately passed away when the Hall of Famer was 44 years old.
I think I'm successful just because I never really wanted a real job in my life, and I have successfully avoided having a real job for the entire width of my existence. It was probably from my mother saying, 'You're a schmuck, and nobody is going to like you. So, do what you want to do with your life anyway.Paul Heyman to Jazzys World TV
Heyman started his career as a photographer in professional wrestling in 1978 when he was only thirteen years old. He went on to write several newsletters and magazines before becoming the infamous mind that fans know him as today.
He would go on to wear several more hats, such as that of a manager, booker, creative writer, ECW owner, on-screen authority, and much more. The wrestling legend was recognized for his efforts by WWE and rightfully headlined the 2024 Hall of Fame class.
Heyman even had a brief stint as an in-ring worker. However, he did not see much success in this role. He only won six out of the 65 matches that he has participated in and made four draws. The last time he stepped into the ring was inside the Hell in a Cell in 2013, when he and Ryback lost to CM Punk in a handicap match.
Diamond Dallas Page makes a bold prediction about Paul Heyman and The Bloodline storyline
Paul Heyman is well-respected within the wrestling community among both fans and wrestlers. Wrestling legend Diamond Dallas Page is no exception to this and had a lot of kind words to say about the Hall of Famer while speaking on the ‘Drinks with Johnny’ podcast.
Diamond Dallas Page asserted that Heyman was the greatest character in professional wrestling right now. Furthermore, he made a bold prediction about his return to TV. He believes shortly after the Wiseman returns to WWE programming, he will get fired in kayfabe and begin his own promotion to compete directly with the Stamford-based promotion.
I’m going to predict something — this is totally off the wall… Paul Heyman gets fired and starts his own, can’t call it ECW anymore, but whatever the hell the name of it is and goes into opposition with WWE.

Heyman has not been seen on WWE TV since the June 28th episode of SmackDown. Solo Sikoa asked the 59-year-old to acknowledge him as the tribal chief. However, the wrestling veteran refused out of his loyalty to Roman Reigns. This led to the Bloodline powerbombing him through the announcer’s table and writing him off TV.
