WWE often offers legend contracts, also known as nostalgia contracts, to its former superstars and managers. These legends’ contracts allow superstars to earn money from merchandising. They are also obligated to make several special appearances and media appearances. Armando Alejandro Estrada recently signed such a contract with the company, which elicited responses from Paul Heyman.
Estrada announced on his X account that he had signed a Legends contract with WWE for a duration of five years. As part of the deal, he would be doing special appearances for the company and has signed merchandising rights for action figures, video games, and more. Paul Heyman replied to the tweet, petitioning for him to be elected Dictator of Los Kentuckos.
This statement was a reference to Estrada’s days in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) when Heyman booked the promotion. The Cuban was part of a campaign where he wanted to be elected as the Dictator of Kentucky and rename it ‘Los Kentuckos’. The 45-year-old also famously managed Umaga during his WWE run in 2006-07 and was the general manager of the ECW brand in 2007 and 2008.
The last time Estrada appeared in a WWE video game was as part of Raw vs. SmackDown 2008. Furthermore, he had action figures bearing his likeness in 2007 and 2008. He made his last appearance for the company in 2011. This contract will make it so that not only will he be appearing in future WWE video games, but also make special on-screen appearances from time to time.
Paul Heyman claims that CM Punk had to go through hell to make his return to WWE
CM Punk returning to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 in Chicago was met with tremendous enthusiasm from his hardcore fans. Although some were unsure of him being a part of the company due to his past in AEW, Paul Heyman asserts that his return to the company matters.
Speaking on Notsam Wrestling, Heyman believed that destiny led Punk back to WWE. He was finally back where he belonged. The Wiseman proclaimed that all rebels have to go through hell to get to heaven. The Best in the World was a rebel at heart. He had gone through a tough journey to get to where he is today.
But a rebel will never reach the top or get his due on his own merit without going through pure, blatant, bloody hell. That hell wasn’t just in WWE; he had to endure it elsewhere as well.
