Novak Djokovic is yet to reveal whether he will play at Wimbledon after undergoing surgery a few weeks ago. The Serbian has revealed an update concerning his recovery process but is yet to give an official report on which tournament he will feature as a comeback.

The Serbian Olympic Committee announced recently of Djokovic‘s inclusion in the tennis team that will play at the Paris Olympics. The announcement didn’t come as a surprise for the tennis community, as the Serbian has often reiterated that he wants to compete at the Games this summer. He is aiming to win the elusive gold medal, the missing title in his illustrious career.

However, he has yet to make an official statement about featuring at Wimbledon despite posting updates of his recovery. Recently, he shared on his Instagram a video of him running on grass, which may likely mean he is aiming to compete at Wimbledon, but there’s no official statement to prove that. Nonetheless, he may have just gotten a booster yesterday after Carlos Alcaraz failed to defend his Queen’s Championships title.

The Spaniard lost to Jack Draper in the second round of the tournament, which means he failed to defend his 500 points. The loss now sees Alcaraz drop to No.3 after earning 5 points from a possible 500 and Djokovic leapfrogging to No.2. McNamee believes this boost will favor Djokovic more than the Olympics.

Novak Djokovic, if he plays, will now be seeded 2 at Wimbledon. The chat is that the Olympics is his priority, which given his patriotic fervour, is admirable. However, the reality is if reasonably in shape he would have a better chance at Wimbledon than the Olympics…just saying.

Wimbledon is where Djokovic has made home, winning seven titles there. Despite finishing as runners-up last year, he will be the favorite to win the title and his first title of the season if he does compete in the tournament.

Novak Djokovic is doing everything to play at Wimbledon

While many are skeptical about Nole’s participation in the grass major, according to a certain journalist he might actually make it in time. Craig Shapiro recently revealed that Novak Djokovic is doing his best to play at Wimbledon. The tournament which starts on July 1 seems unrealistic for Djokovic to compete in. But, with updates on the recent recovery process, the Serbian may be able to compete.

The 37-year-old tore his meniscus after slipping several times during his fourth-round match at the French Open. He underwent surgery in Paris and flew to his home country for further medication.

Reliable sources telling me Novak hit today for the first time since the knee procedure and is pushing hard to play Wimbledon. Let’s see.

Djokovic featuring at Wimbledon will be a big bonus to the sport after the criticism the French Open officials faced for scheduling him to play late in the night. In addition to Alcaraz’s slip in ranking Djokovic will be treated with a better draw as well.
