Paul Pierce Laments Remaining Distance on 20-Mile Hike to FS1 Office After Losing Bet
Paul Pierce had stated that he would walk from his house to the FS1 studio if the Boston Celtics lost game 2 against the New York Knicks.

The Celtics sent NBA Twitter into a tizzy after their second straight disastrous collapse in clutch time against the Knicks. After allowing the Knicks to overcome a 75-55 lead, they let a 73-53 comeback happen in game 2 against them. This meltdown meant that Paul Pierce had to honor the disheartening bet he’d made on national TV yesterday.
Pierce had promised viewers that he would walk to the FS1 studios on Thursday morning if the Celtics lost game 2. The Celtics legend was completely convinced that the Celtics wouldn’t shoot 25% on 3-pointers.
If the Celtics lose Game 2 at home, I’m walking here tomorrow, 15 miles! In my robe, no shoes on, barefoot… Put the house on this game… you got a better chance of walking out the studio and seeing a dinosaur!
Paul Pierce had proclaimed on Speak FS1
Lo and behold – that was exactly what happened as Boston went 10-40 from long range in game 2. This caused them to lose a second straight home game, putting their playoff campaign on life support. The team’s offense predictably stalled during the fourth quarter. Despite their lowered emphasis on 3-pointers, they were still unable to make crucial buckets. The Celtics clearly need Kristaps Porzingis on the floor for easier two-point looks, but the Latvian has been off color.
All of this has led to Pierce honoring his bet by walking to the FS1 studios in a robe, barefoot. Keeping his promises has led Pierce to give NBA fans some comic relief over the years. This time is no different as Pierce posted his journey on Instagram, lamenting his fate.
This is crazy dog I can’t believe this. C’s got me out here like this. I’m sweating. So I’m about 4 miles in right now. So I think I got another 16 miles? I’ve been going for about an hour and a half right now. So Imma keep going – I’m a man of my word though.
Paul Pierce described the tedious exercise of walking 20 miles to the FS1 studios on Instagram Stories

Paul Pierce isn’t the only NBA analyst paying the price for the Celtics’ shooting profligacy

The Celtics have established themselves as the league’s best team at generating open shots over the past two seasons. However, this hasn’t always been a working strategy, as we’ve seen in their last 2 games. To make shots consistently, the team needs to be finding ways to get easy shots in the paint. Charles Barkley is another analyst who lambasted them for their one-note offensive strategy.
Yet, Barkley had picked the Celtics to win both games 1 and 2 when brought on by FanDuel to make his prediction. When the Celtics lost both outings in the clutch, Barkley bemoaned their lack of offensive variety and strategy.
The one thing that would scare me – they live and die by them threes, they’ve had two awful games. But Jaylen Brown changed up a little bit and started going to the basket. But you never know when those threes are gonna click in. You never know.

However, Barkley still believes that the Celtics can make something of this series if they are able to win game 3. According to him, the Celtics are still the better team in terms of roster strength. It remains to be seen if they can deliver on this promise in the upcoming games.
