WATCH: Celtics legend Paul Pierce STOMPS Jalen Brunson’s jersey after Knicks defeat to Pacers in Game 7
Paul Pierce violates Jalen Brunson after the New York Knicks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.
Paul Pierce's controversial act left the internet stunned.
Former Boston Celtics and NBA legend Paul Pierce posted a controversial video on his X account after the Indiana Pacers beat the New York Knicks in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. The Knicks were handed a 109-130 defeat by the Pacers in a well-rounded effort from the entire Pacers team.
In the video, Paul Pierce can be seen stomping on a Knicks jersey with Jalen Brunson’s name on the back of it. This controversial act was not received well by NBA fans, who have criticized it on social media, with some even calling him out for not receiving a farewell tour.
The New York Knicks would have faced the Boston Celtics had they won the seven-game series against the Pacers. Unfortunately for the Knicks, their star guard Jalen Brunson could only play 27 minutes in the final game of the series after he fractured his hand mid-game and had to be subsequently taken off.
Brunson’s is not the only injury that has cost the Knicks a place in the Eastern Conference Finals. Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson, who are crucial players in the franchise, were not able to participate in the entire series as they got injured before the series started.
Despite so many injuries, the Knicks put on a tough fight and forced the series to Game 7, where they succumbed to the Pacers.
Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart take time out for the Knicks fans
Jalen Brunson and Jost Hart took some time to show their fans some love after their defeat to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.
Despite both of them being injured, they did not shy away from giving the Knicks fans something to cheer about. The internet is filled with respect for both athletes.
While Jalen Brunson got injured in game seven, Josh Hart suffered an abdominal strain in game 6 of the series, where he could only play for 31 minutes due to the same injury.
Hart had 5 points, 3 assists, and 8 rebounds in the time that he played in game six. Unfortunately, it was not enough to take the Knicks over the line, as they lost that game 103-116.
Despite suffering an injury in game six, Hart was available for game seven and was on the court for 37 minutes, during which he could put 10 points, 5 assists, and 8 rebounds on the board. The Knicks, however, lost this game as well as the series with it, despite leading the series 2-0 after the first two games.
