JJ Redick and the Los Angeles Lakers are starting to unravel. "I didn't recognize that guy. I been in the locker room with him a couple years. I never saw that type of attitude. That looks like some frustration is mounting and rightfully so." pic.twitter.com/LF1YU7YEpf
Pierce was left stunned by Redick’s demeanor and attitude. He spent two seasons with the Lakers boss in the Clippers locker room but did not associate Redick with these types of outbursts. He revealed that the mounting frustration within the Lakers organization could be a major reason for the rookie head coach facing the fire early in his career.
The Celtics legend has been critical of Redick’s hiring by the Lakers in the past. During the summer, Pierce believed that the Lakers made a mistake by hiring a rookie head coach like Redick. Given the pressure that surrounds the Lakers coaching job, Pierce was not flattered by Rob Pelinka’s decision.
JJ Redick fights to keep Lakers locker room together
JJ Redick is facing the reality of being a Lakers head coach. Things spiral out of control faster than you realize once the team starts to lose. The pressure is mounting on Redick to get the team back on track, as LeBron James and Anthony Davis continue to put up stellar performances.
As the mood in the Lakers locker room continues to deteriorate, the pressure grows on Redick to galvanize the team. The Lakers will head back to the Crypto.com Arena after a disappointing road trip. They next take on the Philadelphia 76ers, who will be shorthanded in the absence of their superstars.
Following crushing losses against the Pistons and Grizzlies, the Lakers will need to get back to their winning ways soon. With Anthony Davis expected to miss more time, Redick will hope that the team can snap out of their ‘bad habits‘ and play winning basketball.
