Paulo Costa had added motivation seeing Paddy Pimblett make weight at UFC London, despite how off the rails he might go with his diet when out of camp. Costa, who’s had weight troubles of his own wanted to learn a few things from Pimblett when it came to the art of effectively losing weight.
Pimblett almost becomes someone unrecognizable as a fighter a few days removed from his octagon appearance. Thanks to his outrageous junk food diet and the fact that most of the weight goes to his face, Pimblett making weight should inspire the fattest among us to get up and move.
Though not the fattest, Costa’s antics with regard to weight became the highlight during his fight week against Marvin Vettori. A fight where since Costa was unable to make the middleweight limit was shifted to a Catchweight of 195 and later to light heavyweight, saw the Brazilian lose a huge chunk of his purse. That is not something he wishes to experience again.
It is in this light that Costa and Paddy started encouraging each other via social media to make weight and party after. Paulo even hailed Paddy as a HERO when he effortlessly stepped on the scales and made weight at UFC London.
