Paulo Costa last fought in February and is already ready to get back inside the octagon. According to the fighter, the UFC offered him Sean Strickland, but the American fighter backed out. Many believed Strickland turned it down due to his demands for a title rematch.

However, that wasn’t the case, and Sean Strickland cleared it by revealing his dissatisfaction with the fight purse. Instead of getting into an online scuffle, Paulo Costa tweeted and mentioned that he totally understood the situation and even offered Strickland to have a shooting session in the desert.

Sean is looking for better things on his future I can understand and respect. I hope you guys do same and not fire at him on hate and stuff . It should be a damn cool fun fight but maybe in near future . Go rest man and let’s go fire at desert.

‘Tarzan’ lost his middleweight title at UFC 297, which affected his guaranteed fight purse. However, the fighter isn’t happy with the new pay at all. Strickland revealed that the UFC wasn’t paying him enough to fight Costa in seven weeks. The fighter did negotiate with the promotion but didn’t reach the middle ground.

While Costa normally roasts most of the UFC fighters, his behavior with Strickland is very different. In the past, Costa also had a contract dispute with the UFC. As such, he totally understood the situation. However, fans were excited to see ‘Borrachinha’ going against Strickland, which could only happen if the American reached an agreement with the UFC about the fight purse.

The Brazilian has shown his respect towards the fighter and is now taking it to another level. The current circumstances with Strickland’s dissatisfaction with UFC have resulted in the American fighter teasing a boxing journey.

Costa declared his excitement to see Sean Strickland take on Jake Paul in a boxing match. According to Costa, the fight would be far superior to Paul taking on much older Mike Tyson.

Costa himself has had a beef with Paul in the past, and they talked about fighting each other. Costa threatened Paul and claimed that the YouTuber-turned-boxer wouldn’t be able to breathe while fighting against the Brazilian. With more and more fighters showing interest in boxing, the UFC will have to take some actions to keep their fighters. Nevertheless, the new bromance between Strickland and Costa remains a sight to see.
