Fulham transfer news: Paulo Gazzaniga completes his move to Fulham

According to the recent transfer reports and the official announcement from the former Premier League outfit, Fulham, Paulo Gazzaniga has completed his move on Saturday. The former Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper will play for the Craven Cottage outfit in 2021/22 in the EFL Championship. The official statement read:

The Club is delighted to announce the signings of Harry Wilson and Paulo Gazzaniga. Wilson signs from Liverpool on a deal that could see the player remain at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2026. Gazzaniga joins on a two-year deal, following the expiry of his Tottenham Hotspur contract last month, keeping him with the Club until the summer of 2023.

After his stint with the North London outfit, the player featured for the Spanish outfit Elche in the 2020/21 season. The Argentine international will feature again in England. Paulo Gazzaniga’s contract has expired with Tottenham Hotspur and will make his switch on a Bosman transfer.

The Argentine shot-stopper started his career with the League Two outfit, Gillingham in 2011/12. Then Gazzaniga moved to the English Premier League with Southampton where he featured in nine games for the St Mary’s outfit. Showing his exemplary shot-stopping skills, the player had racked up 31 saves from nine games, stopping 72% of the shots.

The player stayed with Southampton till the end of 2015/16 and due to lack of first-team action, he made his move to Spain. Paulo Gazzaniga joined Rayo Vallecano on loan. He featured in 32 games and had a 75.6% success rate in stopping the shots. Also, he had saved one out of five penalties during his tenure at Rayo Vallecano.

Paulo Gazzaniga made his switch to Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth €1 million ahead of the 2017/18 season. He featured in 24 games for Tottenham Hotspur in the English top-flight over three years. His best season came in 2019/20 when Hugo Lloris was out injured.
