Manchester City boss Pep Guadriola admitted that his side was no match to Paris Saint-Germain, who earned an impressive 4-2 win over the EPL giants. The Cityzens gave away a 2-0 lead, to concede thrice in 22 minutes in a humiliating Champions League defeat.

City dropped to a dismal 25th position on the Champions League table. Now, there are fears that they might fall short of making it into the knockout stages of the competition. Cityzens continued with their poor run in the competition, as they only have eight points from seven matches. They have lost three UCL matches this term against PSG, Juventus and Sporting CP.

Pep Guardiola‘s side, who have endured a slump over the last few months, suffered their ninth defeat of the season. Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland helped Man City take a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of the second-half. However, they failed to capitalize on their lead as PSG scored four past them. Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, Joao Neves and Goncalo Ramos found the back of the net.

Guardiola lamented his team’s lack of intensity, during the post-match press conference. He highlighted his players’ poor defensive display and ball-playing. The Spanish manager admitted that Man City could not cope with PSG.

We could not cope. When one team is better I have no problem accepting it… It could happen, if we don’t win we don’t deserve it. This is the reality, we haven’t got enough points and we have to accept it.
