Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is known for his ‘mind games’ and cheeky comments ahead of crucial games. The Spaniard was no different as he spoke to the press ahead of the important Premier League fixture against Arsenal. The Gunners are without a bunch of their most important players, while Kevin De Bruyne is also in doubt for the clash.

Pep Guardiola spoke about his opponents in high regard and explained how they’re getting better year by year. The Gunners missed out on the Premier League title by the narrowest of margins to City in both 2023/24 and 2022/23.

Year by year, Arsenal get better because they invest in a deep squad. If I say something, they'll say that I'm playing mind games or something.

The Spaniard even said that he isn’t ‘good’ at mind games, while the media portrays him as a master of the same. With a win, Guardiola’s men can pull away from Mikel Arteta and co., having already established a two-point lead over them in the first four Premier League games.

With a win, Arsenal can bridge the gap between them and the league leaders if they manage to secure a result without main man Martin Odegaard.

Mikel Arteta has just ONE plan in mind for his side’s trip to the Etihad

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta did not hold back when speaking about his side’s objective for the upcoming Premier League clash. Even though the game is too early to decide the title winner, fans believe that the game will play a huge role in shaping how the season will progress. Arsenal came under immense criticism for trying to secure a draw against City when they played at the Etihad last season.

Arsenal are in good form ahead of the game, even though they ended up dropping points in their Champions League opener against Atalanta.

We believe we can win. Every game, we have to win. That's our belief and our strength of feeling. We can do it.

Arteta, however, will have to find a way to make things work without Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori, both sidelined with injuries.

Against Atalanta, Arsenal’s lack of creativity was completely exposed, primarily owing to the absence of the Norwegian midfielder. Several fans claim that City will pick up all three points on Sunday, while a few others argue that Arsenal can make do without their best midfielder. Neither City nor Arsenal have lost a game this season.
