Manchester City find themselves in a very difficult spot just 11 games into the season. With a 2-1 defeat to Brighton, Pep Guardiola has now lost four consecutive games in his managerial career for the first time ever! As for City, such a situation last occurred in 2006! The result also meant that City are now five points behind Arne Slot’s Liverpool in the title race.
Man City do have a habit of stepping up their game in the Premier League around Christmas. However, pointing to several reasons, fans aren’t convinced that the same will happen again. Pep Guardiola himself didn’t seem too optimistic when speaking to the press about the possibility of making a comeback.
City are also without main man and Ballon d’Or winner Rodri for the rest of the season, with the Spaniard sidelined with an ACL injury.

As things stand, City ‘need’ to win their next League games against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in order to close down the gap between them and the Reds.
Can Pep Guardiola inspire a ‘historic’ comeback to salvage their season?
Pep Guardiola has six Premier League titles, a Champions League and several other domestic accolades to support the claim that he’s the best manager in England. However, with four consecutive defeats across three different competitions, City desperately need some inspiration.
Guardiola isn’t one to back down from a challenge either and has vowed to give it his all in the coming months.
Pep also boldly stated that he isn’t willing to let his ‘era’ at City come to an end.

Erling Haaland and his supporting cast are also going through a rough phase. Manchester City have only managed to score five goals in their last five games, with Haaland contributing to just two. Even though a majority of fans are rooting for their ‘downfall’, City have time and again proven why they’re the ‘best’ team in the League.
