Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola recently admitted that he had fallen in love with the club, on the very first day when he joined it back in 2016. He made these comments after being questioned about his future at the club, beyond the end of the current season.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Pep Guardiola’s future at Manchester City, after his contract with the reigning EPL champions comes to an end next season. The inspirational manager has led the club to six EPL titles and a UCL title, since taking over the reins from Manuel Pellegrini in 2016. It remains to be seen whether the 53-year-old extends his contract, with some sources also linking him with a move to his former club Barcelona or the England national team.

He also highlighted the love affair he has had with the team since the very first day. The Spaniard manager, however, refrained from speaking about his future at the club when questioned by reporters.

I am part of this club, it’s deep inside of my bones. I love this club and it will always be that way. It cannot be different for the way they treat me. Since day one, they gave me a lot.

Meanwhile, a Manchester City fan group is reportedly going to unfurl a banner in the Etihad Stadium, during their match against Fulham, urging the 53-year-old manager to stay at the club beyond 2025. Upon this, the manager hilariously stated that he would pay for the banner.

Kevin De Bruyne has not featured in any of Man City’s matches since sustaining a groin injury during the club’s UCL opener against Inter Milan. Speaking on his absence, Pep Guardiola stated that the midfielder would not be ready for the club’s upcoming match against Fulham, and would also not travel to the national team camp, after having missed out on many important matches.

For tomorrow he’s not ready. How can he go [to Belgium] when he didn’t play one game? I never understood that. But, anyway, he cannot play with us, he cannot play with Belgium.

The 33-year-old’s absence from the Belgium squad might seem to be pointing even at the possibility of retirement at the age of 34, following some of his contemporaries like Antoine Griezmann and Toni Kroos.
