This week’s Raw was all about every superstar looking to have a path to SummerSlam. Amid the festivities towards the event, there was a pretty interesting angle between former stablemates. Sheamus faced Bronson Reed in a hard-hitting matchup. However, following the match, the Celtic Warrior was unexpectedly attacked by none other than Pete Dunne.
After the sly ambush, the Bruiserweight broke his silence with a stern message. He called this attack a reintroduction to the ‘Bruiserweight’. The former NXT UK Champion even made it clear that he has no intention to put anyone over, as he is looking to make an impact for himself on the scene.
As for tonight, I went out with receipts and Bronson Reed got his. So, let's take tonight as a reintroduction to the Bruiserweight. The Bruiserweight is no corner man. I'm not here to lift people up, I tear people down.Pete Dunne on Raw Talk
The Bruiserweight was the gimmick of Pete Dunne in NXT UK. He made a name for himself in the division and also went on to become one of the longest-reigning champions in history. Therefore, the return of the gimmick certainly highlights the potential of the 30-year-old star. Besides, Sheamus was caught off guard by such a cunning ambush. He never expected his former Brawling Brutes friend to turn his back on him like that.
Last week, the Celtic Warrior rushed to the ring to save Dunne from an attack by Bronson Reed. He had no gratitude for the aid and pushed away the former WWE champion, expressing no respect for him. Moreover, the English wrestler is known for his menacing wrestling style. Therefore, his battle against the Great White at SummerSlam can certainly be a banger match.
Sheamus addressed the controversial attack by Pete Dunne on Raw
Sheamus had never thought that his former Brawling Brutes mate would turn his back on him. Following the ambush, the Celtic Warrior was seen walking down the corridor, worn out. Jackie Redmond convinced him for an interview, and he reacted to this backstabbing.
The Great White said that all he ever did was help Pete Dunne in WWE. He never thought that he would have any sort of problem with him. In fact, even he is clueless at the moment about why Dunne turned his back on him.
It was a shocker of the night as it looked from the face of the former WWE Champion. His body was red after the battle with Bronson Reed. Moreover, he was also frustrated by such a turn of affairs. It is going to be interesting to see how things will pan out with this major event from here on.
