Petr Cech says he’s ready to play if required
Chelsea’s goalkeeping situation seems to be under control now that Eduoard Mendy is in. Mendy has considerably improved the Chelsea defence and has already kept 5 clean sheets in his limited time.
However sporting director and Chelsea legend, Petr Cech insists he’s ready to play if required. Cech who is by far Chelsea’s best goalkeeper was drafted into the squad due to Covid 19 situation. Moreover with the form Kepa Arrizabalaga is in, you’d trust Cech more.
I’m 100% fit : Petr Cech
“I know I’m 100 per cent ready to help if needs be. I’m fit, and with the two months of training, I’ve seen I have the same quality.
“Furthermore, I rested for a year without playing football. It really gave me energy, my body recovered after playing 20 years as a professional.
“If the circumstances put me on the pitch, I’m ready.”
Recently Eduoard Mendy spoke on this situation as well.
In terms of him playing, I think we already have three very good, competitive goalkeepers and that should be enough for us,’ Mendy said recently.
‘It’s just an absolute pleasure to be with him every day.
‘To work with him and particularly in training it allows me to watch how he works and to analyse his game. So it’s a wonderful bonus for me being here.’
