Interim UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan is doing everything in his power to mock back his arch-rival, undisputed bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling all in response to the trash talk Sterling has delivered towards the former. Yan and Sterling are heading into a title unification rematch at UFC 273 this weekend taking place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, the USA. The main event is headlined by a featherweight title match between the champion Alexander Volkanovski and the challenger Chan Sung Jung.

In the first fight between Yan and Sterling which happened back in March 2021 at UFC 259, then undisputed champion Yan threw an illegal knee to Sterling resulting in losing of the title via disqualification. Since then, Yan has fought a fight of the year contender last year at UFC 267 when he faced Cory Sandhagen for the interim bantamweight title. Meanwhile, Sterling was making successful recovery of a grave neck injury that needed immediate surgery.

The disqualification took place in the fourth round and Sterling was in a position to not get up and stand for quite a while. Out of that long duration of Sterling suffering in pain, Yan took a moment out of it, got it imprinted on a custom pendant in 3D format.

The picture of the pendant was shared along with Yan’s face in the background on Twitter and in the caption Yan wrote “This dog is on my leash”

There’s no stopping to their bad blood as of now and it’s not sure if Yan and Sterling would even shake hands after the fight. Who do you think wins this rematch between Yan and Sterling at UFC 273? Yan is a straight up maestro when it comes to striking but once the fight goes to the ground it’s all Sterling’s world right there. Do you think a trilogy should happen irrespective of the results? Are you entertained with their rivalry or is anyone crossing the limits?
