In light of not finding any coaching job since his departure from the New England Patriots, legendary head coach Bill Belichick seemed to be joining hands with two of his biggest former nemeses, the Manning Brothers as he steps into the world of television jobs.
In his surprise appearance at the most popular Tom Brady’s Netflix Roast, Peyton Manning confirmed the news of Belichick joining hands with him and his brother, Eli Manning as the permanent guest on Manningcast’s special show, “Monday Night Football” for ESPN.
Peyton dropped the bomb during his roast set that streamed live on Netflix:
It is great to see the greatest coach in NFL history, coach Bill Belichick, here. For those who don't know, Coach is going to be doing some work on Eli and my 'Monday Night Football' show this year. I have to tell you -- it's going to be awesome.Peyton Manning said
Eli and I are super excited, and it's going to give Coach Belichick something he hasn't had in a while -- a chance to be around quarterbacks he respects.Peyton Manning added
Two of the biggest competitors of the Patriots and Belichick during their era of dominance were Peyton first with the Indianapolis Colts, later the Denver Broncos, and Eli with the New York Giants where he won two Super Bowl rings defeating Belichick’s team.
Former Patriots HC Bill Belichick tackles TV after coaching setback
This offseason has been tough on the former Patriots quarterback as he lost a potential job with the Atlanta Falcons and couldn’t find any other coaching job. This compelled him to join the television business, which he first did with Pat McAfee by appearing on his show for the NFL Drafts.
However, the struggle didn’t lose the utter confidence that the former head coach possessed; during his roast set on Sunday, he silenced everyone when he concluded his routine with:
For all of you out there that think about who's responsible for the Patriots' success during the time Tom and I were there. Was it Brady? Was it me? Was it Brady? Was it me? In reality, the truth of the matter is it was both of us -- because of me.Bill Belichick said
Moreover, now that Belichick has moved on from head coaching job in the NFL, there’s reported another potential show with Omaha, the name is yet to be disclosed. In contrast, Belichick himself has shown his interest in the idea of starting his podcast.
