Peyton Manning is built for the TV. The retired NFL legend showed up in Paris for the Summer Olympics with a surprise in tow.

Wearing one of his best tuxedos, Manning attended the grand opening of the event in the French capital on Friday, July 26. Later, he joined the iconic sports presenter Mike Tirico and singer-songwriter/talk show host Kelly Clarkson in the NBC booth to discuss America’s chances of winning the most silverware.

While conversing, both Tirico and Clarkson noticed something on Manning’s right hand. When the former Indianapolis Colts undercenter slightly removed his sleeve, out came a quarterback wristband.

This is just my wristband. I have notes on all 200 countries, all 10,000 athletes.
Peyton Manning joked

Manning came prepared for the event, and if he somehow forgot his lines, the wristband would come in handy. After realizing what the former Bronco was wearing, Tirico and Clarkson had a good laugh.

Peyton Manning shared his experience of attending the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics

Even though several events have already taken place in various sports, the Olympics officially kicked off on Friday after the opening ceremony. A performance of Marie Antoinette was followed by a twist in the traditional walkouts.

In the previous iterations, athletes from different countries walked out of the tunnel and greeted the fans. The French chose a unique method of using boats as vessels to carry the participants.

Peyton Manning revealed when the athletes rode the boats on the Seine River, he thought it was the best walkout he had ever seen.

It's great to see these athletes just taking it in. I think every moment of this boat ride they'll always remember. It's unlike any pregame moment I've been a part of. You hear about that tunnel before a game in football or basketball. I'd argue this is the coolest tunnel of all time, being on a boat on the river Seine, headed toward the Eiffel Tower to start the Olympics. I don't know how you beat that.
Peyton Manning said per USA Today Sports

That came from a football player who won two Super Bowls, and football teams always take their walkouts very seriously. Manning didn’t attend the event alone. His family tagged along with him to the city of love. Besides Manning, the rapper Snoop Dogg stole the show when he carried the Olympic torch.
