Cedric Doumbe, the already glorified kickboxer and GLORY veteran, has reached new heights. Knocking out Jordan Zébo in just nine seconds, in the main event of PFL Europe 3 in Paris, he is in full form. Speaking to Ariel Helwani the Monday after his highlight-reel victory, Doumbe was asked if the left-hook knockout was motivated by UFC. But Doumbe nonchalantly hinted that he has moved on.

They f**ked up,” said Doumbe to The MMA Hour. “It is what it is. Now I’m part of the PFL. For me, PFL is the future. They are doing very great. We’ve got Francis [Ngannou] now. He’s part of the team. I’m part of the future, we are changing something. We are doing something great. So I didn’t even think about [the UFC],” continued Doumbe.

Cedric Doumbe, the former kickboxing champion, has as of now only competed in five MMA bouts so far. But with that said, he is in reputed prime form. Doumbe is only one of the few free agents that have signed over to PFL since last year. The French kickboxer was expected to sign with UFC but did not go through as he felt disrespected by the promotion’s offer.

But what is a supposed loss for them is a gain for PFL. Second time in a row, that Doumbe has expressed the validity of his choice to forego UFC for PFL. And with a sensational beginning to his journey, Doumbe is only due for more. The nine-second KO artist is also accompanied by French-Cameroonian, Francis Ngannou on the PFL roster.

Cédric Doumbé considers Leon Edwards an easy game for Jake Paul hypotheticals

With the very recent signing of Ex-UFC Heavyweight king Francis Ngannou, Jake Paul felt inspired to pitch in ideas. Amidst the overshadowing UFC 292 announcements by Dana White, Paul felt to pitch in hypotheticals for a PFL Vs. UFC matchup and joined collaboration.

Paul has vented that the UFC and PFL work together to co-promote an event on their shared network ESPN. He has pitched quite a few supposed pairings for his fight card. Out of them is Cedric Doumbe facing UFC Welterweight champion Leon Edwards. The prospect of which seems utterly easy to Doumbe.

Doumbe is in top form now with his successful PFL debut. Edwards, on the other hand, is coming off a successful title defense. Even though his last three bouts were victories against Kamaru Usman and Nate Diaz, two of his bouts came off rocky to the end. With UFC 286 matchup Vs. Usman going to a majority decision in the final round.

Doumbe was linked to UFC on several occasions before being detached. He is now fully integrated and focused on PFL and his place in it. It is unlikely that an UFC-PFL collaboration is to happen any soon, in either of the promotion’s history. But this particular match, along with the others, does incite some amount of intrigue.
