Jon Jones will always intertwine with the heavyweight scene in any MMA event. He is considered the GOAT and will remain the center of attention at these events. The UFC heavyweight champion made a surprise appearance at Saturday’s PFL vs. Bellator event. Jones crashed the broadcast to comment on Francis Ngannou’s upcoming boxing match. He also continued his feud with Ngannou.
The historic PFL vs. Bellator card featured champion vs. champion bouts. Jones wasn’t competing but showed up to share his thoughts. He talked about his upcoming fights in the UFC. Jones predicted he would beat Tom Aspinall, Stipe Miocic, and Francis Ngannou. This is what he said:
I don’t know how the cards are going to fall. My prediction is that I will beat Stipe Miocic. My prediction is I will beat Tom Aspinall and Francis Ngannou. The way that it unfolds is really not my business. My job is to do what I’ve always done, since day one.Jon Jones during the PFL vs. Bellator event
He also gave his take on Ngannou boxing Anthony Joshua next month. Jones admitted he would root for fellow MMA fighter Ngannou despite their rivalry. The UFC legend sided with Joshua over Ngannou. He believed Joshua would win based on his extensive boxing experience.
Jones is still healing from a torn pectoral muscle. He has yet to fight since winning his title in early 2023. A fight with Stipe Miocic is targeted for Jones’ UFC return later this year. If fans are lucky, they might witness a fight between Jones and Aspinall but not with Ngannou.
Francis Ngannou commented on Jon Jones’ physique
Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones had a tense exchange during Saturday’s PFL vs. Bellator event. Jones made an appearance and continued their long-running feud with Ngannou. Jones and Ngannou have traded barbs since Ngannou left UFC. A matchup between the heavyweights never materialized in UFC despite years of buildup. Now, the rivalry has carried over to Ngannou’s new PFL home.
Jones said that he’d beat Ngannou in an MMA fight after first defeating Stipe Miocic and Tom Aspinall. This prompted Ngannou to fire back with his own retort. This is what he said:
In your dreams. You are f****** fat.Francis Ngnnou during the PFL vs. Bellator event
Jones admitted he was rooting for Francis Ngannou to beat Anthony Joshua in their upcoming boxing match. However, he believed Joshua’s experience would lead him to victory. The back-and-forth showed that Ngannou and Jones remain under each other’s skin. They still have unfinished business after never fighting in the UFC.
