Twitter reacts to boxing legend Claressa Shields’ first MMA loss at PFL 2021, Jake Paul calls her “a loser in MMA”

Claressa Shields vs Abigail Montes
Claressa Shields came from being a boxing veteran to an MMA rookie, just to learn a new sport. With her first loss to Abigail Montes in her second professional MMA bout, the journey might seem a little tough. The “GWOAT”/”T-Rex” was handed a split-decision skid from her opponent at PFL 2021 season finals.
Claressa Shields made her MMA debut early this year in June where she won by TKO in the third round. Shields boxing record holds an unmatched legacy of two Olympic gold medals back to back and an undefeated record of 11 wins and no losses in professional boxing with earning over 5 world titles.
Here’s what Twitter had to say on Claressa Shields’ first MMA loss

Bellator MMA’s women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg comes out in praise of Shields and says “Keep your head up @Claressashields I love how you are young and courageous and not afraid to challenge yourself. The way you’re inspiring an entire generation of women to not be afraid of greatness is what makes you so powerful! @PFLMMA“
MMA Fighting journalist Shaheen Al-Shatti speaks critically of PFL’s matchmaking abilities, he says “I remain baffled by PFL’s matchmaking for Claressa Shields. Is it that hard to find a striker for her to style on? Especially after her debut. #PFLChampionship“
UFC Welterweight Belal Muhammad puts “Claressa is getting better she needs 3 more fights under her belt and I think we’ll really see where she can go in MMA”
UFC Veteran Yves Edwards looks at the fight another way around.
Jake Paul was all for seeking revenge on Shields’ past comment on not being willing to fight on a card headlined by Paul who’s just a Youtuber turned boxer rather than a seasoned veteran.
Extreme Couture coach Eric Nicksick is baffled by the decision going split. The same was the reaction from famous athlete manager Malki Kawa.
