The PGA Tour has once again found itself on the end of extreme backlash from the fans. A few days after a thrilling Masters Tournament, which saw Rory McIlroy claim the green jacket, the news of the tour suspending Wesley Bryan for participating in LIV Golf’s content creator event, The Duels, has shown up.

The PGA Tour and LIV Golf have been on a golf civil war since the establishment of the latter. Despite the talks of a merger, there still seems to be some animosity between the two tours.

The Duels: Miami saw golf content creators team up with LIV Golf stars and participate in a 2v2 tournament. Wesley Bryan, along with his brother George, Grant Horvat, Rick Shiels, Luke Kwon, and Fat Perez, were the content creators who participated in this event.

This event took place a few days after the PGA Tour hosted a similar event for content creators. A day before The Players Championship, the tour held the Creator Classic, which was won by Grant Horvat. The Duels: Miami was aired on Horvat’s YouTube Channel.

Bryan, the 2017 RBC Heritage winner, had been seen filming content with Phil Mickelson for a while now. Ahead of this event on LIV Golf, the creators were reported to have received a warning regarding suspension from future PGA Tour events if they took part in it.

As per Ryan French of Monday Q Info, Bryan was handed an indefinite suspension from the tour. He now joins a list of top players who have received similar bans from the tour for leaving them and joining the LIV Golf circuit.

One user highlighted this by writing, “Not a great look for the PGAT” on X.

The suspension of Bryan also comes to light at a time when the PGA Tour extended an official invitation to Grant Horvat. As per the YouTuber, he received an invitation to compete at The Barracuda Championship this July. However, he is not sure whether he will tee off or not.

No, I don’t have regrets. That video is one of the most powerful videos in YouTube golf. We are going to continue to support Grant and grow the game through YouTube.
